Excellence in Education

Natchez offers parents 4 choices for the early education of their children. With the public school district, there are also 3 private or parochial school committed to education.

The District serves over 3,000 students, kindergarten through 12th grade, are enrolled in the Natchez-Adams School District. Uniforms are required for students attending in this district. The district employs more than 600 people and more than 270 of those are teachers.

Natchez High School

Located at 319 Sergeant S. Prentiss Drive, Natchez High School serves approximately 900 students. The school offers more than 100 classes including advanced placement courses for grades 10 through 12. There are opportunities for honors, vocational, business, performing arts, home economics and foreign languages in addition to the standard courses of math, science, history and English. We envision our students to be stakeholders in student achievement, producing life-long learners who are productive learners in a global society. Fallin Career and Technology Center

Located at 315 Seargent S. Prentiss Drive, Fallin offers the following programs:

Natchez Freshman Academy

Robert Lewis Middle School

Robert Lewis Middle School offers enrichment activities, remediation activities, mentoring, before and after school tutoring for grades 7 and 8. Morgantown Elementary School

In addition to the basic educational curriculum, the school offers band, choir, physical education activities and art to children in grades 5 and 6. Come see the facility at our 101 Cottage Home Drive location or call 601-445-2917.

McLaurin Elementary School

In addition to the basic educational curriculum this school, located at 170 Seargent South Prentiss Drive, offers music / choir, art, physical education, library, computers and community service activities to grades 3 and 4. Call 601-445-2953 for more information.

Frazier Primary School

In addition to principal and assistant principal, there are 2 physical education teachers and a gifted teacher. There is a full-time nurse available. The curriculum includes music and physical education for grades 1 and 2. Come see the school at 1445 George F. West Boulevard or call 601-445-2885.

Susie B. West Primary School

Each class includes a teacher and teacher assistant for our pre-K and Kindergarten students as well as a full-time guidance counselor. The math and reading curriculum uses the research based Houghton Mifflin program. The curriculum also includes music, library, guidance and physical education. Natchez Early College Academy@ Co-Lin

It is our at Natchez Early College to provide our students with a safe, intellectually challenging and empowering environment that fosters innovative thinking, creative problem-solving and college, and career readiness skills. Adams County Christian School

Adams County Christian School (ACCS) provides a Christian-based education to students in grades pre-K through 12. ACCS includes preschoolers in the learning process by emphasizing math, oral and perceptual skills. The elementary program is designed to improve children’s communication skills as well as teach the objectives of science, social studies, and computer skills.

The high school curriculum is college preparatory. It includes English, advanced math, accounting, advanced sciences, computer, foreign languages, health, Bible, government, history, psychology, typing, and speech. Also included are honor and advanced placement courses. ACCS also has a full-range championship athletic program.

Cathedral Catholic School

Founded in 1847, Cathedral Catholic School is located on a 22-acre campus in historic downtown Natchez. Cathedral provides a quality Catholic education, with college preparatory courses, to over 600 students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12.  

We offer Dual Enrollment with Co-Lin Community College for College Algebra, Trigonometry, Statistics, English Composition I & II, and Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II (with lecture & lab). College credit can also be earned through our Advanced Placement English, Math & Science programs.

Students are offered the opportunity to participate in a variety of athletic programs. Cathedral’s sports teams have earned numerous district titles as well as state championships in baseball, football, golf, tennis, and cross country. 

Religion courses are required for all grades, and daily prayer is an integral part of the environment.

Cathedral Catholic School is a multi-cultural institution, with a minority population of over 15%, and students of other faith traditions over 68%.

A one-to-one device program was implemented at Cathedral Catholic School in 2021. The faulty and high school students received a MacBook Air for use at home and in the classroom. Middle school students received Apple iPads 8 Gen as a personal device for at-home and in the classroom. All K- 5th-grade students are assigned iPads and PreK has iPads for use in centers. We have updated Promethean Interactive whiteboards with new Promethean Active-Inspire Panels.
