Citizen's Police Academy

The Citizen's Academy is a look into the internal values, philosophies, and operations of the Natchez Police Department. Designed for citizens of Natchez about the "how's and why's" of the department, and the citizen's role in the Community Oriented Policing Philosophy. Meetings are held once a week for 7 weeks and participants are exposed to many aspects of the police department. The Program also gives participants the opportunity to ask questions and express their concerns about crime-related issues. We hope that this exchange of information between citizens and the police department will allow us to better achieve the goals and objectives of the department.

It is our hope that upon completion of the program the participant will utilize the knowledge he/she has gained to educate others about the Natchez Police Department. We believe graduates of this program will be better able to make their own decisions which will affect the police department and the City of Natchez.

If you are interested in attending one of the academies please contact the Citizen Academy by calling the police department at (601) 445-5565 or you can download and print out an application and mail it to the Natchez Police Department
