President's Message- COVID-19
Dear Natchez-Adams County Chamber Members and Citizens of Adams County,
We are continuously working on your behalf in both our community and with our government officials on the Mayor’s task force during this COVID-19 pandemic.
The goal for our Chamber is to ensure that the information we share is accurate, informative, and researched. We urge our community members to take protective measures against COVID-19 seriously, by washing hands frequently, staying at home if you are sick, and implementing social distancing measures.
Our goal is also to make every effort to further support our local businesses during this economic slowdown in ways that are safe and appropriate for our community, and we encourage you to join us.
We realize that everyone is going through this uncertain time together. It is our hope that we can count on each other. Check on your neighbors and at-risk community members by calling or messaging them.
Sela and I are researching and sharing ideas to help businesses deal with economic issues that they may or will have to manage. Any ideas you have are welcomed. We are sending out a survey to listen to your needs and hope that this will give us incite in how to best coordinate and link businesses at this time. The Chamber office is open for business, and also available by phone or email, firstname.lastname@example.org. As always, we are here to serve you.
We can connect you with our local, state, and federal officials. Attached is the letter our Chamber Chairman and member of the Natchez, Inc. Board of Directors, Peyton Cavin sent to our legislators to advocate for immediate financial help from our government.
Unfortunately, the Chamber has had to suspend several of our meeting activities for the next few months: Friday Forums, Ribbon Cuttings and After-Hours, and committee meetings until further notice. Our Annual Golf & Tennis Tournament, April 3rd, as well as the Leadership Kick-Ball Tournament, April 18th, are postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. Currently, we have decided to continue to keep the YP Natchez Bicycle Classic which will be held as planned on May 23rd.
As always, I appreciate your support and prayers as we work together to serve our community, promote business, enhance economic development and serve as the catalyst for improving the overall quality of life in our community.
